Ebbene il ricordo per fare cronaca sul suo rientro in Italia, e particolarmente a Venafro in Molise proprio Comune di nascita e residenza assieme a moglie e figli, dell\u2019amico 70enne Luigi Durante, ex commerciante nel settore elettrico ed oggi attivissimo pensionato. E\u2019 di ritorno appunto dagli Usa dopo aver partecipato con entusiasmo, simpatia e voglia di esserci alla Maratona di New York di domenica scorsa 5 novembre, quale portacolori dell\u2019Atletica Venafro assieme ad altro tesserato dello stesso club, Antonio Chiodi. Aveva gi\u00e0 corso nel 2022 l\u2019amico Luigi la stessa maratona ed ha voluto bissarla per propria soddisfazione personale e per la voglia di esserci. Il piazzamento suo e dell\u2019amico? Assolutamente l\u2019ultima cosa ! L\u2019importante era esserci e tanto \u00e8 avvenuto. Il venafrano ha impiegato cinque ore, 14 minuti e 48 secondi per coprire le 26,2 miglia della prova newyorkese, tagliando il traguardo sorridente ed assolutamente tranquillo. \u201cUn\u2019esperienza unica che prende tantissimo. Bella l\u2019atmosfera, bello l\u2019ambiente, bello il percorso !\u201d, afferma il venafrano mentre mostra soddisfatto l\u2019attestato con tanto di \u201cCongratulations\u201d consegnatogli a fine prova dagli organizzatori della \u201dNew York City Marathon\u201d. Ed allora complimenti sinceri Luigi e, dopo le meritate congratulazioni in lingua inglese, ecco qualcosa di analogo da parte degli amici di Venafro in lingue diverse, \u201cCHAPEAU ET AD MAJORA\u201d
